reboot instances

    hi,

    I have 3 instances in a server n I need to reboot 2 instances on weekends,the other one has production databases so it should be online all the time.

    my question is where to set these settings

    Hello Gary,

    First question is to why must you reboot these instances weekly? This can be done via a scheduled task if needed.

    If I am reading this correctly, you have 3 instances on the same physical server - so you do not want to reboot, you want to stop and start the SQL service?

    You could do this from the SQL Agent on the 3rd instance with a NET STOP and NET START, but you should not have to do this at all.

    Why do you think you need to cycle the services?
