When I execute xp_fixeddrives on a sql2005 server, I only see de local C: in the results. I also get errors when trying to restore a database because the D-drive where the backup file is located, is not visible from within sqlserver. Jobs accessing files on D also fail. I am however, able to create a new db on D.
The server was installed to run under Local System, but to enable mirroring, we recently changed it to run under a domain account. De domain account is in the Local Administrators group on the server and in the sysadmin server role. When I log in to windows with this account, I have access to all drives.
Has anyone experienced this before?

The account the runs the agent is not the same as the account that runs the sql service... It seems that the account that runs the agent does not have neccessary permissions on the d:\ drive... As a test Make the SQL Server Agent run under the same account as the SQL Server Service...if that work then permissions is your problem.
