I just got a subscription "notice" in the mail today saying I could sign up for SQL Server Magazine for a discount and I'd get a CD called "101 T-SQL Black Belt Scripts and Tools" for free.
My question for y'all is, have any of you seen this magazine & CD? Are they useful or is this just more marketing?
I don't want to pay money for marketing, but if enough people consider this useful, I might subscribe. Thoughts?

I have subscribed to the magazine for several years and think it's very worthwhile. I purchased the CD once early on but never really used it. I always end up going online to forums such as SSC for help and resources.

It's a good magazine. A little different focus than here, more higher end, some more theory stuff. Itzak Ben Gan and Kalen Delaney, two very talented DBAs, write columns there. Worth reading their stuff.
We're more beginner/real world stuff here.
Not sure about the CD.

Hi,
It's an excellent investment for any SQL Server DBA and\or developer!
Thanks,

I subscribe to SQL Server Magazine, and it is well worth the investment.
