Redirecting mirroring to backend network

    Is is possible to redirect mirroring in a SQL Server 2005 environment with a witness to use the back end network without breaking the mirroring and rebuilding it? We are experiencing mirroring connection timeouts and Error: 1479, Severity: 16, State: 2 in batches of 2 or 3 from time to time. There are also a few Database mirroring connection error 4 '64(The specified network name is no longer available.) error messages but these are occurrences are not as often.

    Hi, did you ever get a resolution to your issue? We are having the same exact problem. I believe it's network-related, rather than a SQL problem, but I can't get much traction on it.
