SSIS And Analysis Svc Installed, But Database is 2000

  • Hello,

I have a situation where an installation of 2005 developer was done on a Windows XP machine, and, somehow, the 2005 versions of Analysis Services, SSIS and Reporting Services were installed, but the default database instance is 2000.

What can I do so that the default instance of the database server is 2005? Can I uninstall the current 2000 instance without uninstalling the other 2005 services, then install a 2005 default database instance?

    Thank you for your help!

  • Hello,

To remove the default instance for SQL server 2000 delete these registry keys:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Search
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\MSSQLServer
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\SQLSERVERAGENT

    Regards,

    Veerle
