I have been thrown into the SQL 2000 admin lions cage! I have taken MS2072A (Administering a MS SQL Server Database). No programming background - I've written a few, very basic batch files. I know little to nothing about T-SQL so am confined to EM. I am responsible for monitoring and maintenance and have backups running along with integrity and optimizations jobs, created with wizards. I want to learn more about SQL but there is so much I am not sure where to go from here.
Would someone be so kind as to recommend a good path for me to embark on in my quest to learn more about SQL? I was thinking it might make sense to start with T-SQL and go from there? All advice will be very much appreciated!

I'd recommend Murach's (publisher) book SQL for SQL Server. It is a good introduction to T-SQL (less t-sql administrative stuff like system tables, it is mostly how to query a database).
