I have a Win2003 SP1 32 bit running SQL 2005 SP1. When I attempt to use the ID that installed and is running SQL Server to run the .exe to apply SP2 I get a message stating Windows cannot access the specified, device, file, path. You man not have appropriate privledges to access the item. The rights I have on the server are :
• | Act as Part of the Operating System = SeTcbPrivilege |
• | Bypass Traverse Checking = SeChangeNotify |
• | Lock Pages In Memory = SeLockMemory |
• | Log on as a Batch Job = SeBatchLogonRight |
• | Log on as a Service = SeServiceLogonRight |
• | Replace a Process Level Token = SeAssignPrimaryTokenPrivilege |
·
Increase Quotas = SeIncreaseQuotaPrivilege
What am I missing .... ????

Was your SQL Server (or all other SQL services like agent, browser...) running at the time?
Have you tried it with all of the SQL services turned off?

Try right clicking the file and then going to properties. Click the "unblock" button. Then try running the file again.
