I have downloaded TOAD for SQL Server Freeware v2.0 from the Quest website. When I launch TOAD.exe, I get an error message:
Toad.exe has experienced a problem and needs to close...blah..blah...blah. I also get a .NET error:
.NET Runtime Optimization Service (clr_optimization_v2.0.50727_32) - Failed to compile: Microsoft.ReportingServices.QueryDesigners, Version=9.0.242.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=89845dcd8080cc91 . Error code = 0x80070002
Anyone come across this before?

Why do you use TOAD when you already have query analyzer ?
I only use TOAD for Oracle since Oracle itself does not any GUI interface (shame on Oracle and Larry Allision)

Toad for SQL Server includes many features that Query Analyzer does not have including integrated query tuning, transaction log reading, ER diagramming, HTML reporting, etc... Feel free to check out the links that Serena posted earlier for more info. Hope that helps!!

I have to admit that while their products do have many nice features; the overall quality of their products seem to have decrease over the past few years.
I've been using SQL Navigator and Toad for years now. Back in the day, the products were very stable and worked well for me.
I've recently had problems with newer versions of SQL Navigator, Toad for Oracle and Toad for SQL Server.
In my opinion, the new products are unacceptably "buggy".
I hope they begin to put more effort in to QA and quality. They've got winning products, if they could just get them to work.

Hi,
Can Toad for SQL Server connect to an SQL Server 2005 Analysis Services instance ?
I would like to use Toad's database sync feature to synchronize 2 Analysis Services databases.
My membership is pending on Yahoo! Group toadss, and I created the Google Group "Toad for SQL Server", so please don't feel like redirecting me.
a+, =)

Configuration :
Windows XP SP3 Pro

Given the fact that the post is now over 7 years old, that is not terribly surprising to me.
