I have some excel spreadsheets given to me that I need to clean up, normalize and put into a SQL database. I'm used to SQL 2000. I have now loaded VS2005 with SQL 2005 Express.
I saw there was a way to create an SSIS package in Visual Studio but the same options were not available to me. Has anyone done this before? Is there a better way to accomplish what I need?

Did you try import and export wizard from SSMS?

I've never seen it in the express Edition.
I do have an Eval of SQL 2005 knocking about that I may try and install SSMS only. Hopefully that is possible.

I don't know Express edition has this feature or not but it has very few features compared to other editions..
