I am trying to install server 2005 on a 2000 OS. it gives me this error when i click 'setup'
The cd has a dotnet fix, i ran that and also tried to remove dotnet totally.
Any help would be great.

I'm sorry but I can't see the pic.
Anyway, try first to copy the CD locally and the execute the setup.

it says
"SQL Server 2005 Setup has detected incompatible components from beta versions of VS, .NEt Framework, or SQL 2005. Uninstall from Add\Remove........

Thanks Ian. Which kind of SQL Server 2005 version are you trying to install?

Not sure what you mean. The cd says x86 software SQL Server 2005 developer Edition. I have the Itanium and 64 bits cds aswell.

I have to be sure that you didn't to install a CTP version, because there were some .net incompatibility between the SQL 2005 Beta releases.
Try first to remove the .Net framework following this KB (http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;290301) and then reinstall SQl 2005.

Thanks a stack Diego, it is working now. I ran the uninstall utility and there were a few SQL 2005 components that it picked up, I removed them and cooking much better.
