I just installed Service Pack 1, and the installer showed "success" for everything. However, when I look at the log, there are entries such as the following:

What does this mean? It looks like almost everything was "not applied". Did the install not work, or does "not applied" mean something different from what common sense would suggest?

First think I would ask is that how many instances you have on the server where you are trying to install SP1?
If i understand correctly, most of components are already on build 2047 (SP1) so "not applied" makes sense. Looks to me that they are already applied.

</log>
You also have an Express instance for which you need to download seprate setup for SP1.

Hmmmm -- Well I did start to install this service pack a few days ago, but cancelled out of it when it looked like it was going to take too long. It appears it actually did install it in spite of that -- that's kind of disturbing actually.
I was not aware that the information in parentheses referred to the version currently installed -- thanks for letting me know.
