I have used these CD's called Learning SQL Server they are ok and depending on which version of SQL server you use, but I have been looking at this book called Microsoft SQL server 2000 Performance Optimization And Tuning Handbook. They are just suggetions.

"Professional SQL Server 2000 DTS" by Brian Knight, Mark Chaffin, Todd Robinson is a great book. It's full of good examples and clear explanations. Perhaps it's the Wrox book you've seen.
