Hi, Any help and advise much appreciated.
I Unfortunately I am not that familar with SQL, so only use the Enterprise Manager.
Basically our maintenance plan seems to have stopped working. So i've checked it and also created a new one but nothing seems to happen at the requested times. Theres also no errors reported.
To be safe, as I'm starting to get a bit nervous about not having backups I have also used the backup option and schedule a one off job to start a few minutes from now. ALso nothing happens.
Does anyone have any ideas please.
Thanks.........Stuart

Is the job ENABLED?
There are two places it has to be ENABLED.
1. right click on the job and select properties. On the General tab, there is a box for Enabled. That should be checked.
2. Go to the Schedule tab. The schedule line has a column for Enabled. It should say yes.
If all that is set, check one more thing. On the Schedule tab, highlight (select) the schedule and click on Edit. Is it set for one time or recurring? It should be recurring. Next click on Change. At the bottom, is there an End Date set? The No End Date should be set.

Another thing....you don't tell us what errors there are.
Look in SQL Server Error logs.
Look in Windows Event Viewer Logs.
Lastly, right click on the failed job, select View Job History. Check the box to Show Job Steps.
See if there are any error messages in those places.
Also, make sure the SQL Server Agent service is running.

As SQLBill mentioned, make sure that SQL Server Agent is running:
On the server, open up Control Panel -> Administrative Tools -> Services. Make sure that "SQLSERVERAGENT" is listed as "Running". If not, try to start to it. If it does not start, it might be because the username/password for the account that runs SQL Server Agent is no longer valid. Click on the "Log on" tab and make sure that the username/password are correct.
Hope this helps.

Thanks for replies.
SQLSERVERAGENT was running.
Answer seemed to be to change database from simple to full and delete maintenance plans and create a new one.
Backups now working.
Thanks.....Stuart
