Sql Server Agent - auto restart

  Hi,

  I have a maintenance plan to backup the database. But every once in a while I see that the sql server agent is stopped. Can any one tell me why it would stop?

  The web hosting company restarts the server pc often whenever there is any problem with the server backups or updates. Could it be the reason? But I have checked the 'auto restart if it stops unexpectedly'. Why is it not restarting?

  check in Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Services

  if the agent service is set to automatic under the properties, may be that is the problem.

  Configure sql server agent to automatically restart

  Go to Management

  Right click on sql server agent

  Properties Advanced

  Check auto restart sql server if it stops unexpectantly

  Check auto restart sql server  agent if it stops unexpectantly
