We need to keep at least 1 months worth of daily jobs to be recorded in the job history for auditing and Change control purpose.
Is there a config for this as the entries are cleared by the system somehow.

check your sqlagent properties/ jobsystem and raise the jobhistory lines.
afaik there is no way of stating that each job should retain at least the last month or n-days of execution history.

You might also consider creating a job to copy the log lines from msdb..sysjobhistory to another table for the items you have to maintain.
