SQL Account Error: maybe undocumented

    I have not found info on this subject. Note that I am not referreing to NT accounts.

    After I restore or reattach a DB all SQL accounts in the DB Users node do not work. So, what I do is delete account from Users node and add same account registered in the SQL server.

    Can anyone share some light here?

    Hello Dandrade,

    Look into BOL (Books Online) for

    logins-SQL Server, sp_change_users_login

    and also sp_helplogins

    Do you or anyone knows if this is by desing or is it just an undocumented glitch?

    If it's to the same server, the SIDs should match up between the logins at the server level and the users at the database level. If that's not the case, then yes, something is going on with your system. If you're attaching or restoring to a different server, then no, that's expected behavior.
