Hi folks,
Can anyone point me in the right direction to discover how long SQL 7 will remain supported by Microsoft ?
Many thanks.

The last word I have heard is that Microsoft will support the current and last versions of server products. SQL 7 will most likely be dropped soon after SQL 2005 is released to production.
http:\\support.microsoft.com has a phone number to call Microsoft. They may be able to give you an actual date.

See http://support.microsoft.com/lifecycle/?p1=2862
Extended support will end in 2010.
Mainstream support will end on 12/31/2005 (less than two months!).
WARNING - from the MS site:
Hotfix support that is not security-related requires a separate extended hotfix support contract to be purchased within 90 days after mainstream support ends.
As I interpt this , if you plan to continue using SQL Server 7 and need bugs fixed, you have until the end of March, 2006 to sign a contract.
From http://support.microsoft.com/gp/lifepolicy
Mainstream support includes all the support options and programs that customers receive today, such as no-charge incident support, paid incident support, support that is charged on an hourly basis, support for warranty claims, and hotfix support. After mainstream support ends, extended support will be offered for Business and Development software.
Extended support includes all paid support options and security-related hotfix support that is provided at no charge. Hotfix support that is not security-related requires a separate extended hotfix support contract to be purchased within 90 days after mainstream support ends. Microsoft will not accept requests for warranty support, design changes, or new features during the extended support phase.
