Hi all,
I have seen in documents that I can install SS2K on a machine without network domain connection using a domain account. It said that domain accounts are prefered according to some reasons and it is not limited to machines on a domain so you should do it on a single PC.
I tried this during installation and entered many different things but no chance:
...
Would you please telling me what should I enter as service starter account if I want to use domain users?
-Thanks in advance

Sorry for fuzzy question!
It doesn't know the user account I enter. The user is one of OS users that I have used by "Local users and Groups" in windows.
Any idea? BTW I can login to windows using this user successfuly.
-Thanks

What format do you use? It should be Host_name\User_name. It works without problems.

IF you are attempting to do something like the following it wont work:
1. Setup a PC that is NOT on the network
2. Attempt to install SQL using DOMAIN\USERID (doesn't exist on PC)
This however WILL work
1. Setup PC NOT on network
2. CREATE a login on the LOCAL PC
3. Install SQL using LOCALPCNAME\USERID.
4. Add PC to network.
5. Change SQL services to use DOMAIN\USERID...
Good Hunting!
