Attaching to MSDE databases

    I have SQL Server 2000(MSDE) installed on my laptop and my coworker can connect to the databases on it.  However, she has MSDE installed on her desktop as well, but I can't connect to her databases.  I do have a logon account set up on her server.   Any Ideas?

    When installing MSDE, I believe that there is a command line option to allow/disallow network connections to the database (found it: DISABLENETWORKPROTOCOL). The default if not provided is to not allow network connections.

    Also, how are you trying to connect (SQL account or trusted connection)? If mixed-mode authentication wasn't setup, then you need to make sure you have a valid SQL account.
