RS Deploy without .NET?

  • How can RS can be Deploy without having the .net enviroment???

  • Maybe going out on a limb here but  - it can't?  The client/s can all be non-.net but the server components rely on the framework.

    Steve.

  • As Steve has said, Reporting Services uses the .Net Framework so you need that on the server. What you do not need on the server is the Visual Studio .Net development environment.

  • Wonder if it would work using Mondo (or other?) .net "frameworks" ??

    Steve.

  • Thanks, but still I didn't understand How can i deploy the RS files without the visual studio ???

  • I am assuming you have RS installed and you want to deploy reports, if so you can use the tools provided with RS, look in the Reporting Services books online for 'Report Server Command Line Utilities' you will be particularly interested in the rs utility

  • You use Visual Studio.Net on the developers workstation to develop and deploy the reports, or as mentioned use the RS command-line utility.
