Reporting services problem after reinstalling framework 1.1

  • Hello,

I have Reporting Services installed in a server. Because of some problem updating the framework 1.1 with its service pack, I had to uninstall and then install again the Framework 1.1 and then install its service pack - this time, succesfully. I made all the necessary changes  I had to do in order ASP .NET runs properly and in fact does in all ASP applications I had before but reporting services. When I wrote the URL:

    http://servername/reports/Pages/Folder.aspx

    I receive the following error:

The underlying connection was closed: Could not establish secure channel for SSL/TLS

I have tried many solutions offered but none of them worked. Can it be some problem in the ASP .NET configuration? I made necessary changes in machine.config file(about ASP.NET user) and the rest of ASP .NET applications works OK but this does not after the framework 1.1 reinstallation.

    Thank you,

    Best regards,

    Carlos.

  • I know this was a long time ago but did you ever find a solution?  I am working on the same problem right now and it is in our production environment.

    Thanks,

  • This is one of a series of problems that were encountered for months by many people on this and other forums.  The best information I have found on the subject, found after we had painfully deduced the same thing, is at

    http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms159261.aspx

While it may not seem to directly address your problem I think you will find that reading, understanding and applying the advice will fix your problem.  If you are using SSL certificates (or a test certificate from the IIS Toolkit) there is an article on this site you might find useful (written by me).
