msmdarch error with no output

    Trying to run msmdarch. It comes back with an error (errorlevel = 1), but does not produce any output.

    Is there any way to get diagnostics about the error? I am using the LogFileName parameter.

    SQL Server 2000 Std Edition, Service Pack 3a.

    Can you post the commandline call you're making?

    Also, nothing *at all* going into the log file?  Does msmdarch.exe appear in the task manager when you run it from the command line? (ie is it starting up and trying to do something).  Are you (your windows account) a member of OLAP Admins windows group on the server?

    Hi,

    We have seen this problem in the past. In our case it was a priveledge problem.

    I think we solved it by giving Full control to the "C:\Program Files" directory, given it to the "C:\Program Files\Microsoft Analysis Services" was not enough (do not ask me why).
