I have a report that hides columns and toggles off of a text field. When I render it to excel or export to excel the hidden columns don't show in excel and don't have the outline function in excel.
According to SRS SP1 bug fix documentation it is supposed to work. I can get it to work for hiding rows such as hiding the detail of a table and toggling on the Group Header but I can't hide two columns.
Anyone have any ideas?

What is your source for rendering? and what is creating your report?

Coach James,
I have tried just exporting to excel from two sources: 1) Preview in the Report Designer in Visual Studio 2) internet explorer through Report Manager. Also I have had it publish through a subscription.
I tried rendering with URL access and no success either.

RECAP: You have designed a report using RD and you can open this report in RM, and you have published it as well. But it does not export correctly to excel?
You may need to change methods and simplify your report which then supports your purpose.
Can you create a report which exports directly into excel format?
EXAMPLE: I use dhtml to retrieve parameters, then open ODBC and execute an sp, which returns report data. The output can be returned via email w/attached html page, viewed as html page, or directed to open and populate an excel spread sheet.
