What would be better performance wise for a 4GB SQL 2000 database....
2x146GB mirrored that would contain the DB datafiles
or
6x36GB RAID 10 that would contain the DB datafiles

RAID 10 is the best option for your data files. A mirrored volume can give you better performance for the log files if you have the flexibility of having both configuration.

I/O wize perfer the 6*.... but also provide the chanels ! or you may encounter chanel-queues.
