Hi
I'm getting "transactio log file full" error on database
My log file size is 1 GB ad % utilization is 63%
Log file is incremented @ 10%
Could anyone pls tell me what is this and how to resolve the problem
If I chang the % amt from 10 to 25 ..do I need to restart the server to make it effective
Thanks

this message occurs when sqlserver gets a timeout when trying to extend a file. In this case it's the logfile.
The is no need to restart when altering the increment size for a file.

Hi,
Backup the transaction log and truncate it.You'll save some place onto your server and all pending active transaction will be validated and all inactive will be truncated.
