Basic question....I'm attempting to import external data into Excel. I go through the wizard as I have several times on my pc. I'm setting this up for those who have not used OLAP before. I select the tab OLAP Cubes and select new data source. Either 1 of 2 things happen. After I select Analysis server and type localhost I either get an error message that the server is unavailable or busy OR I connect okay but the only available cube is an old testcube that I have since deleted.
Seems like I solved this problem once before but I'm not having any luck this time. Is there something else besides MS Query that needs to installed on other clients for them to connect to Anaylsis Server? I've set up security so that shouldn't be an issue. Thanks so much for any help. I'm on the painful beginning of the learning curve!

Ensure that if you're running SP3 (of Analysis Services) on the server, that each of your clients accessing the server have had their PTS (Pivot Table Services) updated to SP3 also (it's on the same CD).
Make sure that the users trying to connect are in appropriate roles for the cubes you want them to connect to ie without being in a role they won't see anything.
If you get the chose from two drivers when making the conxn to the cube, ensure you use the driver with the higher number (I think it's got an 8 at the end), otherwise you're using an OLAP Services compatible driver which will only let you view Olap services compatible cubes (ie SQL 7 olap compatible cubes).
