Olap Reporting
I'm working on a project that might be a good candidate for an olap cube. on the surface the data side seems fairly simple. The requirements include making cube data available from a web page and providing drill down functionality. My question is what tools are avalilable for displaying cube data on a web page?
Thanks for your help

There are lots of products our there that will work
Proclarity, Cognos, Webfocus, Brio, SPSS, (all very expensive), Office 2000 pivot table services
but my favorite is the thin web client from the SQL 2000 resource kit. Its free and easy if you use Analysis Services. Supports roles, drill through ...
I have it running on http://www.utcodes.org/queryabledata/cube/analyzer/default.asp Select the Occupant level cube - it has lots of stuff to play with, then go to Ad Hoc Reports and drag and drop.

I'll definitely take a look. Have you developed reports for cubes using Reporting Services?

Yes and although its a nice feature, it is not a rich as the above options. However the above options require a somewhat above average user to really get them to a high level. I still prefer the above, if they need to slice and dice the data exensively. The thin web client will also support predefined reports that the user can then slice and dice further, so for me the thin web client is the way to go. But if your users are primarily doing static things with limited dimensions then reporting services is a good option as well.
I used to have a java tutorial on the utcodes site to walk you through using the thin web client, but I no longer work there and my replacements have broken it - sorry.

I took a quick look at the resource kit and without getting into a lot of detail it looks like there are several sample applications. Which one of these samples has the thin client tool? Also, what did you use to create the predefined reports?
Thanks again

This might be better to take offline email me brian.nordberg@hsc.utah.edu for more info. The predefined reports are all XML. Theres also a msn group http://groups.msn.com/OLAPServicesDevelopersForum/web.msnw?action=get_message&ID_Message=45&ShowDelete=0&ID_CLast=191&CDir=-1
where I've posted instructions on getting it up and functioning and some updates to files ...
