I deleted some records from a dimension table and reprocessed the associated shared dimension. Now when I try to process the cubes that use that dimension, I get the following error:
Analysis Server Error: Internal error [Object does not exist] '' ; Time:3/24/2004 9:05:11 AM
How do I determine what "object" this message is referring to?

Did you do a "Full" process or just an "Incremental" on the dimension? If your deleted data was key to a hierarchy you will have changed the structure so a full process will be necessary. You've probably already tried this, but you could stop/start Analysis Services as well, to clear any cached data.

Actually, I feel like a complete idiot, but basically what happened was that I had to do a restore of the OLAPRepository and the restore copy was not current and did not have record of the server that I was using. I had to unregister the server in AS, modify the connection string in OLAPRepository, reregister the server in AS and then reprocess the whole lot.
Should have checked that first.
