hi all,
i would like to know if i save my DTS package as a structured file how do i open it again..and i more thing...
can this structured file be taken to any other computer and can the DTS package then be run on that computer.
could someone give me an idea on how to do this.

Check http://www.sqldts.com and you will find the answer to your question.

In EM right-click on the Data Transformation Services and select Open package ...
If you haven't EM, you can write a small WSH script with DTS COM Library ... see LoadFromSQLServer, LoadFromStorageFile, SaveToSQLServer, SaveToStorageFile methods of Package object

there is a tool "DTSBackup 2000".
With this tool u can backup, transfer dts
from a server to another one
