Advanced SQL Developer

  • WireImage (www.wireimage.com), a division of MediaVast, seeks an Advanced SQL Software Engineer who will work with the technology team in the New York City office to maintain a large and complex MS DBMS. The candidate for this position should have advanced expertise in stored procedure programming, data modeling, and database administration. The candidate will report to project managers and software architects and undertake a wide range of software development efforts. The candidate should be able to collaborate effectively in a small, fast-paced, team environment. The candidate will also assist in designing MS .Net data tier components for a multi-tiered web-based digital archive system using Microsoft technologies.

    Preferred Areas of Experience

    -- Undertaken performance tuning of complex stored procedures

    -- Developed solutions that address scaling issues of fast growing OLTP databases

    -- Worked on large OLTP and/or OLAP databases

    Required skills include:

    -- Three to five years of advanced MS SQL Server development experience.

    -- One year of solid experience with ADO .Net.

    -- Strong understanding of software architectures, MS Products, and software and development lifecycle.

    -- Broad knowledge base of technologies (e.g. MS Windows DNA, MS .Net Framework, COM, ATL, Windows 2003 Services).

    -- Proficient with the latest Microsoft development tools and technologies.

    -- Ability to give development estimates.

    -- Ability to manage tasks and work independently.

    -- Strong ability to understand problem domains from a systems analysis perspective.

    -- Solid written and verbal communication skills.

    -- Hands on development experience with MS .Net Framework, COM, using C#, VC++, and VB a plus.
