I am confused with the Maximum physical memory usage an instance of SQL2000 Enterprise Edition can take on a Windows DataCentre. Answers from MS support site are different, or I understood wrongly.
These two links show 32GB http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;274750
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;EN-US;268363
while this one shows 64GB
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;811891
Could anyone advice?
Thanks.

Wre are running Windows Datacenter that supports up to 64GB for SQL Server.

Thanks Allen.
Can I say that if AWE is not enabled, SQL2000 can only take up to 32GB on Datacenter?

If AWE is not enabled, SQL Server can use only up to 4GB memory.

Can this situation be true where you have /PEA switch turned on, but AWE not enabled?
If it can be true, how big RAM SQL2000 can utilise in Maximum?

/PAE is used by OS to use memory beyong 4GB and AWE is used by SQL Server to use memory above 4GB. You need both on if you want to use memory more than 4GB.

Thanks Allen. It's very clear now.
