After monitoring our server for some time, I've noticed that the above statement is issued quite frequently immediately prior to Analysis Services queries. It is highlighted with a '208 Exception error' - object not found.
Does anyone else get these (check using Profiler, use the basic settings + Errors and Warnings)?
More to the point, does anyone know what it means (presuming it's not just me!)
Many thanks,
Nigel.

Hi there, no response as yet!
Please could someone try the following:
Set up a trace on a SQL Server running Analysis Services 2000, under Events select 'Errors and Warnings' in addition to the standard three.
Now, process a cube.
Check to see if you get that 'select gibcol from gibtab' in the Profiler list.
I'd be really grateful if someone else could try this, just to see if I'm going (completely) nuts!
Many thanks

I dont have it installed where I can test at the moment, but I don't think it's just you:

Many thanks, Andy, for putting me out of my misery.
I had tried various searches on gibtab and gibcol together - gibberish seems entirely appropriate here.
wibble, wibble, wibble (with apologies to Richard Curtis)
I shall just ignore the problem, now that I know that it's normal behaviour

Gibberish makes sense to me!
