Just wondering if anyone else has come across a weird
problem I found.
When you have Text Annotation in a DTS package and you
make a change to the text, but make no other changes to
the package, the change is not saved.
Also, something you can try to test this out,
1) Create a new package
2) Add a Text Annotation
3) Enter some text
4) Close the package
On my system the package is not saved.
Thanks

I had no issues with SQL 2000 SP2. What version are you running so I am comparing Apples to Apples here?

If you create in the designer and script out to VB code, the annotations are lost.

Well the server tells me it 8.00.534 which is supposed to be SP2. I've tested this on each of the workstations we use and it happens on all of them.

I am sorry, I see what you are saying now. Close the package without pressing save. And yes I get the same results as you. It doesn't ask about saving changes either. I checked SQL 7 SP4 as well and same issue there. I will check with around on this, may just have been overlooked as I don't make annotations that often and when I do I tend to press save every so often anyway, just in case.

Apparently, this has always been the case so I am sure will get treated as a bug. I tried SQL 2000, SP1 and SP2 all did same, as did SQL 7. Did notice however, if you create a diagram with a text annotation it ask to save changes even if only item. I will pass along and see what is said.
