Have a DTS package that periodically fails. Moving Paradox and FoxPro data to sql2000.
After this intial error the next records max out the allowable error for the step stating connection lost. Other: Windows2k, Pipes, tcp/ip and nwlink all enabled. I would be grateful for any insight into why the connection is lost.
From Error logs:
DTS Run On Error: DTSStep_DTSDataPumpTask _ 9 ,

Error string: Error at Destination for Row number 1202 .

Are the Paradox and FoxPro files on the local server or a remote location?
I see this occasionally. It appears that once the xfer starts, it is very intolerant of network delays.

The files are on another server. Novell 4.11. I suppose the next variable to eliminate is the network by copying over the files and then having the DTS run locally. Any more insight would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I think that the error message really points you towards a connectivity issue, copying the file over is sound practice anyway.
As far as the error, could be anything along the way. Switch, router, hub, NIC, patch cable that is cracked, whatever:-) Might want to talk to your network guy, see if you're the only one seeing this error.
