  Hi Team,

  The Scandentsity is 14% at this movement i will do index defragmention is it good solution or not please suggest me

  as per my knowledge for better result we goto Re-build the index is best option.

  but it is production box i thing for this we need down time.

  please guide me for this

  I prefer to use DBCC ShowContig and utilize the following criteria as to rebuild or reorganize.

  On indexes with more than 10,000 pages

  Rebuild when Logical Scan is 20% or higher

  Please note that Index rebuilding process uses more CPU and it locks the database resources.
