Which DB does Google uses??

Google probably uses a lot of different databases for different things, but they've shown a certain fondness for MySQL - to the extent of contributing quite a lot of funding and development effort to the project.
This page has a list of references:

ComputerWorld also has an interesting article on the subject.
Of course, they're working on a totally different scale to most of the rest of us, so the kind of architectures they're building with MySQL aren't very applicable to most companies.

I think I've read that they use MySQL, but mostly their "search database" is designed for them as they piece together results from multiple servers, some of which are redundant.
They're not really solving an OLTP problem.

AdWords is more or less an OLTP problem and is built on MySQL.

I thought the google database was something they built themselves called 'Big Table'
