If a single node SQL Cluster is set up with the plans of adding another node at a later time, how is the orher node addd?
I can create a 2 node cluster and then add SQL to both nodes at one time no problem with virtual server install. I can add and remove file sharing nodes no problem as they do not require software install like SQL Server.
So the question is, if I have a single node cluster, do I build another node and install SQL Server and then add it to the cluster and attatch databases once I fail over to the new node? Or do I add a new node without SQl server installed and then run the Virtual server install from CD and attatch to the existing virtual server and then do somethiong I have not seen?
An out line for adding a node to an existing SQLServer cluster would be really helpfull, thanks.

Ehh I found the answer with some digging. You run the Virtual server install from CD and attatch to the existing virtual server and go from there.
Here is one. Can 2 nodes in a cluster be used in a second cluster? Basicly multi cluster on the same nodes. Seems like a decent way of managing them. Different disk arrays, different cluster name etc...? I mean why buy additional hardware if the current hardware is enough and a logical distinction is all that is neded?

Just think about what you're suggesting!! A solution however is to use a three node setup where 1 node covers failover for two other nodes - but as you add more the management becomes more complex/troublesome
