Hello All,
I'm running Analysis Services on a SQL 2000 server and have created a couple cubes that I want to give access to specific users for specific cubes. When I create the Role and give access to the users that I only want to see cube A, those user are also able to see cube B as well. And I haven't granted them access to that cube.
Is there any way I can control who has access to what cube? Is this a flaw or am I missing a step in assigning permission? It works fine if I remove their ID. They don't have access, but once I grant them access, they can see everything. Also, these user ID's are domain level ID's/accounts.
Thanks,
Ronnie

There is a secondary tab in the Manage Roles window that allows you to check and uncheck the cube(s) that the account would have access to. Edit the role, then go to the "Membership" tab.
I hope this is what you're looking for.

Thanks.
That was part of the solution. What turned out to be the main culprit was the security on the Analysis Services Data folder. When I check the permissions to that folder, the "Everyone" group was there which gave authenicated users access to all of the cubes. Once I removed "Everyone", the control was passed back to the Manged Roles.
This is good info to remember.
Thanks everyone for your help.
