Uninstalling all traces of SQL Server 7.0

  • Hi, folks!

This is my first post in this forum.

SQL Server 7.0 Desktop Edition did not install properly in my Win98SE machine. Now, I want to uninstall all traces of it, but using the Uninstall feature did not work. Is there any other (manual but safe) way of removing all traces of it from my machine?

Any and all help would be highly appreciated!

  • Can be tricky - usually there are some install folders left and quite often registry entries - beware of any odbc/mdac registry entries as if you mess them up you will have problems.

Previously I've usually resorted to fdisk when a build fails. ( not probably what you want to hear! )

  • Thanks, I'm not bothered about the folders, I'm bothered about the registry. What keys are created by SQL Server 7.0 that need removal?
