Using sync with backup Replication DB option

    I have read about and experimented with setting the replication db option 'sync with backup' to true. It seems to work ok on a test environment.

    Other than the basic documentation in SQL BOL (under "Strategies for Backing Up and Restoring Transactional Replication") I have not found much reference to this feature.

    Has anyone had any experience of using it, good or bad?

    I have used it before and never had any problems.

    You should be aware that the transactions marked for replication in the Log won't be delivered to the distribution database by the log reader agent until you backup the log from the published database.

    So, delivering transactions to the subscribers will be slower.
