Gurus Please Help - Data Import

    Hi,

    I imported data from a table to an Excel file using DTS.

    I edited the Excel file by adding 2 more records and tried to import the data after clearing all the records in the table.But only the original records are imported and the newly added records in the Excel file are not reflected in the table. What will be the problem? Is there any End Of File mark for the Excel file

    Importing from Excel is a lesson in patience.  Might check to see if you imported the Print Area of the worksheet and that the two new records you imported are included in the print area.

    If possible, try importing to Access first and then in to SQL.  Access seems to be more aware of some of Excel's features than the Excel Import tool in SQL is.

    I agree. I might drop the transform and rebuild it. Quick and easy and usually fixes issues. Print Area can be a big one as can blank lines.
