I am giving a presentation this week at the local PASS meeting. I had a couple of topics lined up, but none of them seem right. So I am curious about some extra topics to help get me out of this "writers" block with the presentation.
Anybody have some good ideas?
Should I just go with what I have and hope it works out or try to change this late in the game?

What do you have lined up? I think that changing at the last minute can easily wind up with broken demos and people wondering if they should come back. It's good to have something you've worked on a bit before presenting it.

Deadlocks was the primary goal.
The Backup plan was to discuss an inventory solution. More lessons on getting to know your data better. I feel more comfortable with this one.

Go with the one you feel comfortable with. You'll deliver it better, and I bet you get more questions on it.

I know this is a bit off topic, but somehow relates..
Except for Gail's workshops every now and then, are there any other and more regular events in South Africa for SQL Dev's / DBA's?
I know there are alot of us in this country, but it seems the USA is far more "advanced" in having these sessions and presentations.
Maybe I just dont know about them, but would be a great help if more of us came together.
Would love to attend Summit, but travel costs to USA is on the expensive side, and not always possible.

Heh, that is the way I would normally go. It seemed like they really liked the last one I did - and I have that feeling like I need to do better this time.
Than again - I am probably over analyzing it.

Every now and then? The SQL usergroup meets monthly, 3rd tuesday of every month at Microsoft JHB.

There are only two PASS Chapters in Africa. The one I run in JHB and one up in Senegal (North West Africa)

I'm sorry Gail, I only heard about your sessions, but now that I now, I would love to attend.
Where can I obtain more info?

My blog (see link below post), or the usergroup's website. http://www.sqlusergroup.co.za/
For some reason it doesn't display in firefox, I'm assured that it is being worked on. Jan meeting's not announced because we are still working on it. It will be up on my blog and the site later this week.
If you want to be informed of future meetings, register on the site, and drop me a mail. I'm still doing notifications manually because of some teething problems, but those should be resolved soon.

Never got any mail. Did you send it via the forum? Can you try a PM?
