That would be nice. I like when Google does that as well.

I'll have a new build up today that moves the post ranges out into a table and lets me associate an image with each. Then we can amuse ourselves greatly!

Custom for all the defined levels. Just a matter of deciding. Guru is good. Grasshopper? Black Belt? QueryMaster?

Hm,...Black belt is used somewhere else. Still think let the people decide.

OK, I miss being a Forum Guru. Are we going to have a poll on names for the different levels (democratic approach), will the site admins just unilaterally decide (corporate approach), or will we have a chance to bribe the site admins to select our favorite terms (capitalistic approach)?
Sincerely,

Think we might go for a combo of all three! Next couple days we'll announce a plan to come up with a plan.

So are we ever going to get back to descriptive "titles" again? I miss being a Forum Guru, though I didn't deserve it. Right now, I'd settle for Grasshopper (as someone suggested) ... well, at least if knew that the title would change once I got to 100 posts!
Seriously ... kind of ... this is such a great site, but when I'm in the Forums and I see "50 Posts" under my nice little Avatar, in black text on a white background, well, it kind of makes me feel like something's left undone. It makes me wonder what a visitor to the site might thing ... although hopefully nobody would actually be turned away by something so trivial, it doesn't look as "professional" (sorry, hate that word) as the rest of the site.
Sort of along the same lines ... what is up with the "Banner turned off on purpose" text that sometimes show up in the upper-right corner of the screen?
Hope somebody sees this, although the thread's been kind of dead for a while...

Soon. I was expecting/hoping to get some ideas for fun titles but not much else has shown up. I'll get with Steve and we'll establish the titles this week. On the images, we might go back to the stars, might do something more fun, will decide that too.
Cant disagree that it looks a little 'undone'. Like you, I'd hope that readers seeing that would balance it against the rest of the content and the many changes we have made and still have in progress. Same goes for the banner turned off message, we had problems with ads not loading that stopped readers from being able to post. Was a sporadic problem but painful, so until I can find a way to really fix it we had to bandaid - and of course the message is so that we dont get problem reports about a missing banner!
I typically subscribe to any topic I post in. You can always reach us via private message on here or by using the reportproblems page. We appreciate the feedback. We aren't always able to respond immediately but we do try to at least get you an answer.

But the avatars are nice. Love the Charlie Brown.

Love the Charlie Brown.
Good Grief! that's kind of you. (Thanks!)
Brian, what is your avatar? It looks like a daisy behind a ... futuristic, animated fighter plane shooting its laser? I can't quite figure it out.

Did someone noticed the 'Sisters of Mercy' avatar some days ago? I like this
But I haven't figured out yet, what Steve's avatar should show. Well, obviously a car, but...

Mine is a dragonfly on top of a daisy. Something I photoshopped together a while ago. When the avatar came up on this site, I chose it over the Hap Arnold symbol I usually use.
