I would like to know the following about ssrs 2008 r2:
1. Is there a way to backup subscriptions in the standard version of ssrs 2008 r2? If so, how would you accomplish this task?
2. Is there a way to backup various data sources (shared data sources) that are used by lots of SSrs 2008 reports? If so, how
would you accomplish this task?
3. If there a way to be able to tell when a SSRS 2008 r2 report has been modified by look looking at some of a date modiied
field? If so, how would you accomplish this task?
4. When an SSRS 2008 r2 report is modified, is it better so say that you can not overwrite the existing data sources? This way
you will not mess up the exisiting data sources?

most of the stuff in Reporting Services is stored in the reporting services databases. Database backups assure that report definitions, data sources etc are backed up. I have never specifically researched about the subscription backups, but would assume that they are backed up with the ReportServer database because it has a couple of tables related to subscriptions. The default name for the database is ReportServer but you can give it other names and reconfigure SSRS to use that name. The second database is ReportServerTempDB, but it is mostly for the session data.
Answer to # 3 - yes. Click Details button in the Report Manager on the grey bar with actions, to the right of the Upload File action.
Answer to # 4 - my preference are local data sources (local to the report) in that case no data sources are messed up and if you need to export the report definition, the data source will be right there.
