Silly question - does an index reoganisation carry over to restored db?

    I'll run some dbcc contigs once i've restored it just to check, but i was just wondering if the nice, fresh indexes I created last night will carry over to the newly restored db.

    I can't quite remember how the whole page thing works on the disk...... anyone clear this up for me?

    As long as the backup was taken after the index reorg was completed, yes, everything is there. A backup is a complete copy of the database, as it currently exists, space allocation, location, distribution, it should all be identical after a restore because all of that is stored within the database itself.
