Problem Creating a New Database using Managment Studio

    Hi,

     

    We just installed sql 2005 on our test server.  I am trying to create a new database using the "new database" wizard in the mangement studio.  When I run the script that was generated I get the following error:

    Could not obtain an exclusive lock on database 'model'.  Retry the operation later. 

    I do not have any connections to the model database. 

     

    Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

    You may have model highlighted in MS .. try right click create database on the database instead.

    Thats odd.  I had the same problem about an hour ago.  Could'nt work it out.  So I stopped and started the server and it was fine after that?

    I did not restart the service, however I did not script it and just clicked OK on the wizard and the database was created.  Somehow the script would not work.
