I don't know if anyone here can help me with this, but does anyone know if Netbackup 5.1 mp5 supports SQL 2005? I am running Netbackup Agent for SQL on a win 2003 server running SQL 2005 with no luck! Thanks.

I am having a similar problem with NetBackup 5.0MP5.
I have a new SQL box which is running on Windows Server 2003 - my other SQL boxes are running Server 2000. This is the only difference I can find, yet my backups fail with 'no active policies in the configuration database are of the correct client type.'
When I try to backup from my backup server I get the following error msg:
'4/10/2007 12:02:57 PM - started process bpbrm (1952)
4/10/2007 12:02:57 PM - connecting
4/10/2007 12:07:06 PM - Error bpbrm(pid=1952) connection refused to host livebaan
4/10/2007 12:07:07 PM - end writing
client connection refused(57)
4/10/2007 12:07:07 PM - Error bpsched(pid=2284) suspending further backup attempts for client livebaan, policy LiveBaan, schedule Full because it has exceeded the configured number of tries
4/10/2007 12:07:07 PM - Error bpsched(pid=2284) backup of client livebaan exited with status 57 (client connection refused)'
Can anyone help ?

i'm using Netbackup 5.1 with MP5. when we started testing it last year i read that MP5 is the minimum for SQL 2005 support. At first we were scared we would have to upgrade to version 6, but we are using MP5 with no issues.
not sure if version 5 will work. if you go to http://support.veritas.com and pull up your version and select only pdf's, you will be able to download all the manuals. it will tell you which versions of SQL it supports.
