How do I tell whether I have the latest BOL version?
Is the latest BOL version installed with Service pack 3a?

When you open BOL and click on the 'SQL Server Books Online' link and then at the bottom of that page on the '©1988-2002 Microsoft Corporation. All Rights Reserved.' link you should see a version number. Mine is showing
Version: 8.00.002
..and I hope that's the actual one...

Btw, just tried for the first time from the BOL start page the 'SQL Server Printed Documentation'.
Could it be it isn't valid?

The latest version will have (Updated - SP3) in the title bar. Not sure about the 8.00.002 since all of my versions are updated.

The upgrade to BOL in SP3 you can find it here
http://www.microsoft.com/sql/techinfo/productdoc/2000/books.asp
you have to manually installed it.
If in the title of the BOL windows, it says "SQL Books On Line (Updated - SP3)",
then you have the lastest version, otherwise you don't have it.

Nothing like answering your own question.
Yes, even on the start page.
I got confused, because I have the german and the english version installed.
I didn't see it in the german version, so now it's time to update the german version, I guess.

Yes, there is nothing on my Start page for BOL except the date but individual sections have the "updated for SP3" added.
Dr. Peter Venkman: Generally you don't see that kind of behavior in a major appliance.

Thanks - have installed and now see the updated sp3 - You would think MS would have an option in BOL help which told you this.
