Hi,
We recently increased memory to a couple of SQL servers taking them to @3.7GB.
Both servers are using sql 7.0 one on NT4 the other on NT5. SQL Server can see the the increase of memory and is set to use memory dynamically (to maximum available). there are no other applications running on either server however SQL Server is not using the new memory available.
One server stops at @1.7GB and the other at 1.8GB.
Does anyone know why this is? any help would be appriciated.

Are you running the Standard or Enterprise edition of SQL Server? The Standard edition cannot use more than 2GB.

Thanks jmaurais, forgot about the obvious answers.
They are both using Standard Edition.
Its a good thing the DBA's did not order the extra memory.
