I'm using Full Text Searching on SQL 2000 (SP2 is installed) and it works fine until the server is rebooted.
I then get the error:
Server: Msg 7619, Level 16, State 1, Line 1
Execution of a full-text operation failed. Langauge database/cache file could not be found.
If I then go to Enterprise Manager and use the Full Text edit menu on the table(s) to change the language back to UK english (from US English), it solves the problem. However, I don't want to have to do this every time the server needs rebooting. (Although it is UK English I want set up).
I tried changing the default language setting of ther server to British (it was English langid 1033), and setting the default full text language to English, but I get the above error still.
Now any combination of settings (including neutral for both options) won't make the full text query work at all.(Same error)
Have I missed something really fundamental here? I'm at my wits end. Thanks in advance...

Havent run into this before myself, but it seems to be common in the newsgroups, #1 suggestion I saw was to check the regional settings on your machine. Take a look at this thread also:
If any of that helps, please post back - Im sure someone else will run into this soon or later!

THANK YOU!! The first suggestion in the link solved the problem. (I was missing the wbdbase.eng and wbcache.eng files.)
Here is the suggestion:
1) Ensure that your server has all of the language and "database cache"
files that the MSSearch engine uses. Specifically, wdbase.* or wbcache.* can
be found in the c:\winnt\system32 directory. There should be eight (8) of
these files, each with different language specific extensions, i.e.
wdbase.enu for US_English. If not, copy them over from your Win2K Server CD.
